This website has a broad vision to provide a variety of information, on-line activities, and discussion
forums for children, teachers, parents, pre-service teachers, teacher educators, and educational
researchers. Our basic emphasis is to promote teaching and learning through inquiry, problem-solving,
and project-based approaches and to encourage meaningful, relevant, and complex learning. Of course, we
also encourage creativity and critical thinking.
Explore, have fun, and interact with us and other users.
The New (and post-site-catastrophe) Exploring Science Site
- All articles have new URLs, check "Articles" in the Navigation panel at the upper left.
- Many new photos have been added to the Photo Gallery.
- All member information has been lost.
- Returning and New MEMBERS - Please register.
- Changes to MEMBERSHIP system. People can no longer register without approval from the
site administrator.
- REGISTERING and MEMBERSHIP: If you register from a recognizable domain, you will be approved. If your
domain isn't recognized you will have to follow the procedures below:
- To ADD MEMBERSHIP: (1) fill out information in upper right panel and (2) send note
to site administrator with your full name, city, state,
country, email, username, interest in the site, and job if involved in field related to the content
of this site. Without this information, memberships will not be approved. This step is in reaction
to people who have registered, then added pornographic and other distasteful material to Comments sections
and Forums.
- Anyone who registers then breaks netiquette and/or adds abusive, pornographic, or other distasteful
materials will be banned and reported to his or her internet provider.

Starting from the upper left panel:
- "Articles" - Most of the content and activities on this site.
- "Downloads" - Some downloads are found in specific articles, but others can be found
here.
- "Discussion Forum" - Many of the articles point to specific forums, but all of them
can be accessed here, as well. Please join our site to participate in the forums. Go to "Membership" panel
on the right side (it's free).
- "Web Links" - As we find good sites from around the world, we put them here.
- "Photo Gallery" - Photos relating to science, teaching, and related topics.
